Kokanee Cove

Project Detail:
Conversion of previously utilized Nazarene Church camp facilities into a rustic cabin-camp. Improvements set to be made to existing chapel and cabins when possible. New cabins will be installed to replace existing cabins beyond repair.

What will exist on-site? Cabin clusters, shower facilities, gathering area within renovated chapel, shoreline shelter, library cabin, TV cabin, and small meeting rooms. In a time of changing technological dependency, wireless Internet access will be made available on-site to accommodate the business and personal needs of visitors.

Benefits of the project: Once a private facility, the property will be brought back to life for use publicly, by individuals and groups. Availability of cabins within Idaho’s State Parks is a gradual move towards system and service diversification, creating ways to accommodate diverse customer needs and economic abilities, while contributing to the goal to provide year-round individual and group access to the park.

How will you benefit: Cabins will be made available for individual and group rental. Kokanee Cove presents the potential for private weekend getaways, conferences, or small group retreats.

Funding:

$457,600 Recreation Vehicle Funds
$24,400 Park & Recreation Road Improvement-Gas Tax
$90,000 Requested Land & Water Conservation Fund - Federal

The above-listed resources represent partial funding for the Kokanee Cove project. Funding will be solicited through various grant (state and federal) programs and private donations to finance the projects completion.
